Inventory Control Specialist

Summary of Role:

We are seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to effectively manage the daily responsibilities associated with inventory movement, including raw material, WIP and finished goods and to coordinate cycle counts and physical inventories. The position requires a high attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills. Inventory Control Specialist will be a problem solver that can communicate effectively. A successful candidate will have an enthusiastic entrepreneurial work ethic, which means being a self-starter and taking initiative on tasks. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Global Logistics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform inventory duties to include cycle counts, physical wall-to-wall inventory, discrepancy investigation and reconciliation

• Conducts inventory cycle counts via ABC analysis on a periodic basis

• Assists with data collection, report generation and site metric development in support of best practice methodologies.

• Perform Kanban stock rotation management, dispensing of product through order replenishments and disbursements

• Proactively report supply risk, product, and material availability issues for Kanban Works effectively with a diverse cross-functional team.

• Receive materials, parts, and supplies and store in appropriate location

• Issue material, parts and supplies and fill production orders as required

• Perform aliquoting of raw material/WIP

• Maintain lot issuance and tracking system

• Maintain expiration dated material and perform NCR on expired products

• Maintains physical condition and tidiness of stock room

• Perform physical stock checks in warehouse and stockroom

• Assists logistics department in picking, packing and shipping or sales orders as needed

• Complete material transfer requests and issue out to internal customers

• Implement best practices in logistics

• Performs other duties as business needs dictate

Required Qualifications:

• 5 years of industry experience required with biotech experience preferred

• Exceptional people skills, fostering cross functional collaboration

• Highly adaptable and independent

• Thrive in a start-up, rapidly growing company environment

• Excellent verbal and writing skills, great computer skills

• Take initiative and have a growth mindset

• Ability to lift units with weights up to 50 lbs.

• Conscious of safety requirements and applicable material handling methods (including universal precautions for handling potentially bio-hazardous materials)

• Experience working in a Quality regulated environment a plus

• ERP experience MS Dynamics preferred

• Cycle counting and complete physical inventory experience

• Ability to prepare for and pass internal and external inventory audits

• Shipping and receiving experience a plus

• Experience in a scientific or manufacturing setting preferred

Education Requirements:

• 2-year degree or equivalent college credits

• Bachelor’s degree a plus

Working Conditions:

• As a critical and essential role, the candidate must be willing and able to travel to the San Diego, CA office to report to work. We have protocols in place to provide a safe, socially distanced work environment.
